Loretto, Pa – Sophomore Emileigh Scott (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) tallied three goals and 11 draw controls, while junior Livia Baker (Fallston, Md./Fallston High School) added three goals of her own to help lead Saint Francis to a 13-9 victory over Kent State, erasing a 5-4 halftime deficit. Turning Point At the 21:46 mark of the second half, senior Morgan Day (New Park, Pa./Kennard Dale) netted her fourteenth goal of the season and tied the game at six. Immediately following her goal, Day picked-up a yellow card that sent her to the bench for a two-minute penalty putting the Red Flash in a man-down disadvantage. SFU responded by rattling off three straight goals extending its lead to 9-6 before Saint Francis could return to even strength. Emileigh Scott (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) and Amanda Heidt (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) chipped in two more goals to increase the Red Flash scoring run to six before it was snapped by Kent State's Eva Nikolai. From there, Kent State was unable to get closer than that falling 13-9. Inside the Box Score Saint Francis outshot Kent State 34-20. The Red Flash had eight fewer turnovers than the Golden Flashes 20. SFU was successful on 17 of 19 clear attempts as KSU was 20-26. Saint Francis won the draw control battle 16-6. Notes The Saint Francis offense featured seven different goal scorers in the win against Kent State. Baker (3), Scott (3), Day (2), McHenry (2), Heidt (1), Ryan (1), and Moran (1) all netted goals for the Red Flash. Autumn McHenry (Branford, Conn./Branford) matched her career-high with two goals. Lauren Ryan (Fallston, Md./Notre Dame Prep) set a season-high in caused turnovers with three. Scott won a season-high 11 draw controls against Kent State. Ashley Stoessel (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown East) made four saves and scooped up four groundballs.
