Shelby Lehmann set one school record and tied another as Stetson rolled to a 17-7 win over Kent State in ASUN Conference lacrosse action, Friday at the Athletic Training Center. Lehmann, a senior, finished the game with 10 points on three goals and seven assists. The points total broke the previous single-game record of nine set by Riley Reagan last season, and Lehmann's seven assists ties the program mark set by Danielle Horgan in 2014. While the game ended up being a bit of a laugher, the Hatters (2-8 overall, 1-1 ASUN) had to work to get the victory. A surge late in the first half ended up being the difference. Leading 8-3 following a Marina Rotella goal with 4:12 left in the first half, the Hatters watched as Kent State (1-11, 0-2) ripped off a pair of scores in a span of 80 seconds to get within 8-5. Stetson gained some breathing room with a Marina Rotella goal with 10 seconds left in the half, but the Hatters weren't done. With 10 ticks left, Taylor Zuberer won the draw and quickly passed to Lehmann, who found a streaking Rotella headed straight toward the goal. Rotella's shot barely beat the halftime horn and Stetson led 10-5 at the break. The Golden Flashes opened the second-half scoring to get within 10-6 but from there it was all Hatters. Reagan scored back-to-back goals for a 12-6 advantage, and Rotella, Erin Collier, and Saige-Lyn Gidzinski each scored for a 15-6 lead. Sarah Flatt's goal with 20:51 to go gave Stetson a 16-6 lead and a running clock the rest of the way. Rotella led the Hatters with four goals, her seventh multi-goal game of the year. Reagan, Flatt and Collier each scored twice, with Reagan adding four assists. Sarah Trupp finished with eight ground balls, and Zuberer had four draw controls. Lluna Katz led Kent State with four goals. The Hatters continue ASUN play when they host Coastal Carolina, Noon, Sunday, at the ATC.
