Stony Brook women's lacrosse defeated a nationally-ranked opponent for the seventh time this season, topping No. 22 Johns Hopkins, 15-7, in front of a record crowd on Kylie Ohlmiller Bobblehead Night at LaValle Stadium on Friday. The official attendance for the contest was 3,123 – a new single-game program record. With the win, the Seawolves improve to 13-0 (4-0 AE) so far in 2018. Senior captain Kylie Ohlmiller (Islip, N.Y.) led the way for the program, recording 11 total points in the victory. QUOTING HEAD COACH Joe Spallina "This was a dangerous game, Johns Hopkins is a very good team. The crowd was buzzing tonight; it was an incredible atmosphere for a college lacrosse game. We haven't played in a really competitive game in awhile, so I thought this was a good opportunity for us to play against a great team. For the most part, we answered the bell and I was proud of our effort." HIGHLIGHTS Kylie Ohlmiller's 11-point performance marks the highest of her 2018 season, and second-most in her Stony Brook career. The senior attack scored six goals to go along with five points in the win. Taryn Ohlmiller (Islip, N.Y.) tied a season-high with four goals, adding one assist for five total points. Courtney Murphy (Shirley, N.Y.) added two goals and one assist for three points, and Samantha DiSalvo (Lynbrook, N.Y.) chipped in with one goal and one assist for two points. Ally Kennedy (North Babylon, N.Y.) and Emma Schait (Seaford, N.Y.) both added a goal in the win, while Tiffany Zullo (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) assisted on one goal. Anna Tesoriero (Huntington, N.Y.) allowed just seven goals and made 10 saves – the second most stops of her 2018 season. Brooke Gubitosi (East Northport, N.Y.), Tesoriero and Kennedy all forced three turnovers in the win. NOTES With six goals and five assists, Kylie Ohlmiller moves just 12 total points away from breaking the NCAA Division I career record, and 12 assists away from the NCAA Division I career mark for helpers.
