The Liberty women's lacrosse team shut out the visiting Howard Bison 22-0, Friday on Senior Day at the Liberty Lacrosse Field. Friday's result marked the first-ever shutout victory for the program and first time in school history that Liberty held an opponent without a shot attempt as well. The Lady Flames close out the regular season with a 13-4 mark and a 5-1 record in the ASUN Conference in their first season in the league. Liberty matched a program record for wins (13), which established for the first time during the 2018 campaign (13-5 record). Liberty will be the No. 2 seed for the ASUN Lacrosse Championship, held at Coastal Carolina's Brooks Stadium next Thursday and Saturday in Conway, S.C. Howard drops to 0-13 on the year and 0-5 in the ASUN. Wells also had a caused turnover earlier in the half. Senior Kaitlyn Cassidy-Fischetti scored a career-best three goals in the contest, and fellow senior Brianna McCaffrey added two goals and an assist. Senior Rachel Johnson started for the second time in her career and notched a caused turnover and ground ball in the winning effort.
