DURHAM, N.C. – Catriona Barry and Victoria Hineman each scored four goals to lead the No. 21 Duke women's lacrosse team past Wofford, 20-5, on Thursday evening at Koskinen Stadium. The Blue Devils (2-1) have scored 20+ goals in three consecutive games for the first time in school history. Duke jumped on Wofford (0-1) to take a 12-0 lead within the first 15 minutes. Barry recorded a hat trick in 5:22 and Caroline DeBellis, Maddie Jenner, Ainsley Thurston and Hineman added two each during the 12-0 run. Thurston's three points on two goals and an assist matched a career high. Duke led 15-2 at the break before the scoring slowed down in the second half. Catherine Cordrey added her third of the night and Barry and Hineman each tacked on their fourth of the game to deliver a 20-5 victory. Four goals set Hineman's career-high and matched Barry's, previously set against Northwestern on Sunday. DeBellis led the Blue Devils in points with five on two goals and three assists. The nation-leading assister added three to her tally to give her 10 on the year. Jenner, Olivia Carner and Anna Callahan all added a career-high two assists each. Defensively, Duke caused 20 of Wofford's 22 turnovers. Lindsey Reynolds led the way with three, a career-high, while Callie Humphrey, Olivia Rubin and Cordrey each added two. Sophia LeRose recorded the win between the pipes with Duke's only save of the night. Duke outdrew Wofford 21-6 as Jenner, the nation's leader in draw controls per game (12.00), led the team with 12. The Blue Devils also outshot the Terriers 31-7. The Terriers were led by Elisabeth Ralph with two goals. The Blue Devils hit the road for the first time this season on Sunday, Feb. 16 as it travels to Annapolis, Md., to face No. 15 Navy. Opening draw is slated for noon.
