The Wofford women's lacrosse team welcomed St. Bonaventure to Gibbs Stadium on Tuesday, being edged out by the Bonnies 14-13. Ally Furnari led the Terriers offense that scored a season-high 13 goals, registering five goals and totaling 15 shots, as Leah Hurley, Emma Gentile, Olivia Abe and Elisabeth Ralph each scored two goals. St. Bonaventure had a balanced scoring effort, with nine different players scoring, despite being outshot by Wofford 40-26. The Terriers also picked up more ground balls (14 to 12) and won 16 draw controls to St. Bonaventure's 13. Wofford jumped in front early, as Furnari and Gentile scored the first two goals of the contest just two minutes into the game. The teams traded goals until the Bonnies scored four unanswered to go in front 6-3 at the midway point of the first. Furnari took a pass from Ralph and buried it before converting a free position attempt to cut the deficit to one. Ralph found Hurley in front of the net and Furnari recorded another free position goal as St. Bonaventure took a one-goal lead (8-7) into half. The Bonnies looked to take control of the game, scoring the first two goals of the second before Gentile kept the deficit just two with her fourth goal of the season. Gentile then fed Ralph for her ninth goal of the season, and Shannon Wulff set up Abe as the Terriers knotted the contest 10-10. Wofford continued to roll, adding two more goals as it led 12-10 with just over 12 minutes to play in the second. St. Bonaventure would go on a 4-0 run, but the Terriers were not done yet, as Abe forced a turnover and took it in for the score with 1:27 remaining. St. Bonaventure would ultimately get control of the ball, running the clock out to grab the win.
