WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Hartford women's lacrosse concluded its 2019 season on Saturday, dropping a 19-5 Decision to UMass Lowell. Prior to the game, the Hawks honored senior Billy McLaughlin in a Senior Day ceremony. The Port Coquitlam native excelled both on the field and in the classroom, helping to lay the foundation for Hartford women's lacrosse in its first two years. UALBANY 23, HARTFORD 5 The River Hawks netted eight unanswered goals in the first 18 minutes to secure a commanding lead. The Hawks gained some momentum with back-to-back goals at 10:46 and 10:15, but couldn't hold UMass Lowell from sending five more to the back of the net in the first half. Hartford added three goals in the second half, including two back-to-back by sophomore Megan Miller. The River Hawks netted six goals in the second half to take the 19-5 victory. INSIDE THE BOX & NOTES McLaughlin was the first to score in both halves, netting her final two goals as a Hartford Hawk Miller paced the Hawks' offense with three points on two consecutive goals and an assist Sophomore Debbie Phillips had a hand in two of Hartford's five points, netting one and adding an assist Sophomores Ashlee Smestad and Melissa Gratwicke each added an assist to put their names on the board The Hawks matched UMass Lowell with 22 ground balls, paced by Phillips and Abi White, who each recorded three on the game Senior Kristina Keith led the River Hawks with six points on five goals and one assist
