Out of halftime, Payton Van Kirk (Ocean City, Md./Stephen Decatur) scored the first goal of the second half off a pass from Ridgley to cut Temple's lead to 10-6. After the Owls's earned a goal back, Van Kirk and McDonald scored back-to-back goals to bring the deficit back down to three, 11-8. Temple notched two straight goals before Van Kirk and Grayson Corbett (Ellicott City, Md./Wilde Lake) countered, holding Temple to a 13-10 lead.
