unior Tommy Dawson scored five goals with three assists as the Stevens Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team topped Endicott 14-11 Saturday afternoon in Hoboken. The win moved Stevens to 2-0 on the young season, while Endicott fell to 0-1. The Ducks capitalized on several Endicott penalties, scoring half of its goals in extra man opportunities. Dawson's eight points led all scorers, while senior Connor McKeon and freshman Brendan Monteleone chipped in with four and three respectively. Sophomore Max Bailey continued to showcase his passing ability with a team-high four assists, in addition two from sophomore Dean Peluso. Sophomore Carson White tallied 13 saves to earn the win in the cage. Endicott jumped ahead with two goals in the game's first three minutes, but a man-up score from Dawson off a feed from Bailey followed by a goal from Monteleone evened the game at two with under eight to play in the first. Monteleone added another off Bailey's third assist of the day with 2:56 left on the clock, but Endicott answered one minute later to tie the game at three after one. Senior Tim Leahey got into the scoring action four minutes into the second with an unassisted score, followed by McKeon's first of the day three minutes later to put Stevens ahead by two. Endicott threated with three attempts with less than five to play, but none reached White as Stevens carried the two-goal lead into the half. The Ducks took control of the game with three unanswered goals to start the third, before answering Endicott's score during the 11-minute mark with a pair of man-up goals from senior Connor Towne and Dawson. The Gulls responded however with four answered to end the period, cutting Stevens' lead to two with one quarter to play. McKeon quickly got the Ducks back in control however with two scores over the first four minutes of the fourth off feeds from Dawson, before Dawson added another of his own to make it 13-8. Endicott once again rallied with three straight to make it 13-11, but one more from Monteleone with under four to play sealed the victory for Stevens. Stevens will continue its three-game homestand Wednesday when it hosts Montclair St. at 8 p.m. at the De Baun Athletic Complex.
