LOWELL, Mass. – Mickenzie Larivee (Amherst, N.H) and Devan Miller (Bristol, R.I.) recorded five and four points, respectively, to lead the University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team to Wednesday afternoon's 11-4 victory against UMass Lowell at Cushing Field. Larivee finished with three goals and season-high two assists to match her season high of five points, while Miller equaled her career high of four goals. UNH's other multiple-point scorers were Catherine Sexton (Niskayuna, N.Y.) with two goals and an assist and Rylee Leonard (Coventry, R.I.) with two assists. New Hampshire goalie Issy Torres (Elmhurst, Ill.) was credited with eight saves. Michele Smith (Wantagh, N.Y.) recorded a team-high three caused turnovers while Tatum Benesh (Horseheads, N.Y.) and Julia Neyland (Boxborough, Mass.) tied for the team lead in ground balls with three. Delaney Pratt (Lafayette, Colo.) had a game-high six draw controls. Kristina Keith (1g, 1a) was the only UMass Lowell player with multiple points. UML goalie Renee Gonzalez made 19 saves. FIRST HALF * UMass Lowell won the opening draw and Keith scored 55 seconds later to take a 1-0 lead. * Larivee scored three consecutive goals -- spanning nine minutes -- to give New Hampshire a 3-1 lead. She converted Sexton's pass from behind the net into a goal a 1-1 tie score at 24:51. * After Torres made a quick-reaction save to deny Paige MacEachern on a catch-and-shoot at the left doorstep, Larivee dodged a pair of defenders on the left side and beat * Gonzalez to give the Wildcats a 2-1 lead at 16:29. * Larivee struck again 46 seconds later to extend the margin to two goals at 15:43. On a free position from the right side, Leonard's diagonal pass found Larivee low on the left side. * Miller evaded the defense on the left wing and netted her first goal of the game at 10:52 to give the 'Cats a 4-1 advantage. * MacEachern responded with a tally 31 seconds later and the River Hawks closed within one goal, 4-3, on a strike by Kendyl Finelli at 4:10. * On a free position from the left side, Sexton scored on a high shot to the short side to give the 'Cats a 5-3 lead at 2:54. * Miller raced down the middle of the fan and scored 39 seconds later to extend the advantage to three goals at 2:15. * Miller scored on a low shot from the right wing with 34 seconds on the clock to send UNH into halftime with a 7-3 lead. SECOND HALF * New Hampshire, which closed the first half on a 3-0 run, also opened the second half with three consecutive goals to extend the run to 6-0 and lead to 10-3. * From behind the net, Larivee found Miller in front of the net and she quickly deposited a shot in the back of the cage for an 8-3 margin at 20:40. * Sexton struck again at 15:18 on a bounce shot from the right wing to give the 'Cats a 9-3 lead. * Once again quarterbacking the attack from behind the net, Larivee sent a pass over the crossbar and Teagan Northrup (Longmeadow, Mass.) executed a catch-and-shoot at 13:07. * UML's Samantha Blair ended UNH's run with a free-position goal at 11:59 to trim the deficit to 10-4. * Gabby Masseur (Nashua, N.H.) drove from the left wing to the top of the crease for a goal that capped the scoring with 35 seconds remaining.
