WILKES-BARRE, PA (March 19, 2022) – A late run for the Monarchs was not enough to overcome the deficit as King's fell to the Saxons of Alfred University today 16-6. The scoring for the Saxons was spread out as 6 members of the squad had multiple goals and 9 total members recorded a goal. The Saxons opened up scoring under a minute into the contest as Drew Cartwright found the back of the net at the 14:01 mark. The Monarchs held out until the 9:26 mark when Paul Forte notched his first of the game. Senior Brendan Gambino stopped the drought for the Monarchs as he put one by the goalie with just about 4 minutes left in the first. The Saxons put 2 more on the board before the close of the first quarter to take a 4-1 lead into the break thanks to Kevin Matson and Josh Hauman. Another 4-1 quarter in favor of the Saxons gave them an 8-2 lead heading into the halftime break. Neither team scored for the first 8 minutes until Caleb DuBois broke open the scoring, netting his first of the game. Shortly after, Justin Mosher snuck another one through for the Saxons.
