ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. — Destinee Johnson produced her sixth straight multi-point game with two goals and one assist, but the Siena Saints had no trouble taking care of the Bonnies, securing an 18-6 win Tuesday afternoon at the Marra Athletics Complex. The Saints took control early, grabbing a 4-0 lead within the first three minutes and 30 seconds. The Bonnies offense tried to fight its way back into the game when Johnson connected on a free position chance and Rylee Arnold netted an unassisted goal for a quick 2-1 run to cut the Siena lead to 5-2. But the Saints answered that run in a big way, going on 7-0 run over the next 20 minutes. Johnson added her second of the day with 38 seconds before half to make it 12-3 going into the break. St. Bonaventure came out of the locker room strong, exchanging goals over the first 10 minutes. Arnold got her second of the afternoon on the free position while Ashley Easterday found her first off a feed from Johnson. But the Bonnies went cold over the final 20 minutes. The only offense came from freshman Madison Mundenar who scored her fourth of the season and first since her hat trick against Mercer with 3:54 left in the second. The Bonnies were able to manage their turnovers on the afternoon, giving it away 17 times to the Saints' 18, and held with Siena in ground balls, only trailing 23-21. But Siena dominated in shots, holding a 33-18 advantage, and draw controls, 16-6. St. Bonaventure is back in action this Friday when they welcome Saint Joseph's to the Marra Athletics Complex for the start of Atlantic 10 Conference play. It will also be the Bonnies debut on ESPN+ after the partnership with the A-10 and media company was announced in the fall. GAME NOTES: Freshman Erin Keller earned the first start of her career and became the sixth freshman to earn a start this season. Mundenar's fourth goal tied her with fellow freshman Kayla Radzyminski for the team lead in goals among freshman. Johnson's three points added to her impressive total over the last six games. She has 12 goals and 14 assists dating back to the Butler game on March 1. Kathryn Yoder's team-high three caused turnovers on the day make it ten total over her last three games, with a season-high five last time out.
