The Ohio State University women’s lacrosse team started off hot, but could not contain the No. 25 Johns Hopkins University Blue Jays, falling by a score of 13-5 on Friday night at Homewood Field. The Buckeyes opened the game on fire, scoring off a Liza Hernandez free position shot with 25:39 left in the first half. Baley Parrott added to the OSU lead with her team best 35th goal of the season before Hernandez converted another free position opportunity to give the Buckeyes a 3-0 lead with just over 20 minutes remaining in the half. From there, the Blue Jays responded, scoring seven straight goals over the rest of the half to send OSU into halftime trailing 7-3. The Johns Hopkins run continued in the second half as the Blue Jays scored the first two goals on the half before Sara Dickinson found the back of the net to end the run, making it 9-4 JHU. The Blue Jays responded with a three-goal run before Lindsay Epstein scored to cut into the OSU deficit. The Buckeyes could not find any footing on the offensive end, falling to Johns Hopkins 13-5. Hernandez finished with a team-high three points on the day from two goals and one assist. She also notched one caused turnover. Rizzo made 18 saves and scooped up three ground balls in the game. Epstein came away with two ground balls to go with her goal. Shannon Rosati snagged two ground balls herself while notching a team-high three draw controls.
