Junior Jack Bryan recorded his first collegiate hat trick and sophomore goalie Isaac Bohrer recorded a career-high 22 saves for the LaGrange College men's lacrosse team during a 12-5 setback to Huntingdon Sunday afternoon at Callaway Stadium. "We fought hard today and gave it our all, but the execution was not there, especially in the second half when we were trying to mount a comeback," said LaGrange College men's lacrosse head coach Brandon Sewell. "In both games against Huntingdon this year, we had way too many turnovers to expect a positive result. Today was another opportunity for us to compete and improve. We will continue to learn and a build a competitive program." Freshman Kyro Holland tallied his first collegiate assist and freshman Michael St. John finished with one goal and one assist for the Panthers (0-7, 0-4 USA South). Bohrer turned aside 20 or more shots for the third time in his two-year Panther career. Freshman Michael Poteete and sophomore Isaac Fuller tallied a goal and assist, respectively. Sophomore Jacob Jeffords won 11-of-20 faceoffs. Huntingdon (5-5, 3-2) received at least one point from 10 different student-athletes. Cole Foster (3 goals) and Caden Bacz (2 goals, 1 assist) led the charge for the Hawks, while goalie Stephen Dan earned the complete-game win, making 14 saves. After Huntingdon took a 1-0 lead 4:13 into the game, Bryan evened the game at 1-1 on an unassisted goal with 8:30 left in the first quarter. The Hawks scored three unanswered goals and took a 4-1 lead into the second period. LaGrange showcased resiliency, as Bryan and St. John scored 55 seconds apart to bring the Panthers to within one at 4-3 less than three minutes into the second. Huntingdon scored eight of the game's final 10 goals to seal the win. The Hawks held a 63-32 advantage in shots and a 34-19 lead in shots on goal. Each team went 1 for 2 on man-up situations. LaGrange finished 19 of 27 on clear attempts and Huntingdon went 14 for 17. Poteete posted a team-high 10 shots and game-best seven on goal, while Fuller and Bryan each fired seven shots. Jeffords corralled a game-leading eight ground balls and sophomore Jhalil Daniels compiled five ground balls and two caused turnovers. The Panthers will close out the regular season with a 4 p.m. game at Brevard Tuesday. Assistant Sports Information Director Trevor Wenners can be reached at twenners@lagrange.edu.
