NEW HAVEN, CT - The CMSV Men's Lacrosse team returned to action on Thursday night, traveling to Connecticut to take on Albertus Magnus in a non-conference matchup. After falling behind in the 1st period, the Dolphins came back to win 12-9, earning their first win of the 2017 season. Michael Puchalski led the way with four goals, while Ken Brown-Oda and David Collins both scored two apiece. Jaiden Martinez, Tyler Porter, Jarrett McLean and James Fitzgerald also scored for the Mount. After allowing three goals to start the game, the Dolphins scored twice in the final 48 seconds of the first quarter to pull within one goal after 15 minutes of play. Collins would give the Dolphins the lead at the 9:57 mark of the 2nd period, then would assist on Puchalski's second goal of the game with 6:33 left before halftime to put CMSV ahead 4-2. Porter would score with 31 second to go in the first half to put the Mount ahead 5-2. Christian Brody earned his first career win in goal, as the freshman played all 60 minutes, while making eight saves, six of which came in the second half. Albertus Magnus would open the scoring in the third quarter to pull within one goal but Puchalski scored the next two to put the Mount back ahead by two, in the final two periods, the Falcons would get no closer than two goals. Brown-Oda, Collins and Fitzgerald would score huge goals in the fourth quarter. On the night Collins ended with four points on two goals and two assists, and went 10-for-20 on face-offs, while Puchalski led with five points, adding one assist to his four goals and also picking up a team-high eight ground balls.
