Mercer, coming off a loss to High Point, were able to get on a 9-0 starting at the 9:58 mark in the first half that came to an end at the 14:52 mark in the second half when Talen Francis created an opportunity and was able to score unassisted. The Runnin' Bulldogs had three different goal scorers in the game. Talen Francis led the way with 4 goals while Eilish Gately and Tori Birks each scored a goal. Three goals that were scored by the Runnin' Bulldogs were off assists, each player with one apiece. These players were Liz Antoshak, Talen Francis, and Jada Preston. Gardner-Webb's Katie Sylvester was able to finish the game with a total of thirteen saves. It was a very physical match from both ends, seeing a combined one green card and seven yellow cards between the two teams.
