Fairfield, Conn.—A five-goal run in the second quarter gave Robert Morris a huge lead that the Pioneers could not overcome in the 17-10 loss. Mike Mawdsley (Innisfil, On.) led the Pioneers with four goals, doing all his scoring in the first half. With the loss, Sacred Heart falls to 3-7 and is still winless against Northeast Conference opponents.

Robert Morris was hot right from the start scoring the first three goals of the game on four possessions. Matt Gannon (Huntington, N.Y.) dished the ball to Mawdsley with 6:32 on the clock to put the Pioneers on the board. Alex Miller (Ridgewood, N.J.) added another tally for Sacred Heart, scoring his first goal of the season.

Heading into the second quarter down by two, Gannon and Mawdsley teamed up again less than two minutes into the quarter to shrink the deficit to one before the Colonials went on a five-goal run. Started by an unassisted goal by Taylor Graves, Robert Morris put up three goals in 55 seconds. Five different Colonials lit up the scoreboard before Sacred Heart had another chance to score in the second.

Matt Ferrino (Orchard Park, N.Y.) was on fire in the second half, netting three goals for the Pioneers. He along with Shane Foley (South Brunswick, N.H.) and Matt King (Brewster, N.Y.) burst out of halftime to put up three goals for Sacred Heart before Robert Morris' Sean Meagher found the back of the net for his first goal of the season. Ferrino added one more before the end of the quarter depleting the gap to just 13-9.

After a Ferrino unassisted goal just inside the 11-minute mark, the fourth quarter was all Robert Morris. The Colonials added another three goals in the final six minutes of the game to pick up the 17-10 win.
