- Liam Osborne tallied two goals and four assists, and the #11-ranked Belmont Abbey men's lacrosse team won a hard-fought game against #6-ranked Indianapolis, 13-10. The win puts the Crusaders at 7-1 on the year, including 4-1 against ranked opponents. The Greyhounds are now 5-1 on the season. How it Happened Osborne helped Belmont Abbey jump out to an early 2-0 lead with a goal less than a minute into the contest, and an assist to Sean Hanrahan. Later, at the 4:07 mark, he scored again Hanrahan capped off the period with a goal at the 1:18 mark to give BAC a 6-2 advantage when the quarter expired In the second, it was Noah Haas scoring first for the Abbey. Next was Austin Hasen giving the Crusaders a 8-3 lead, before Collin Grippo finished off the period with a score and a 9-4 Crusader lead at halftime The Crusader defense was very strong in the third, not giving up a goal for the first six and a half minutes of the period, and limiting the Greyhounds' shooting During that early stretch, Jack Pigott and Grippo scored less than a minute apart from each other, as The Abbey got a commanding 11-4 lead Haas finished the period with a score at the 1:07, and Belmont Abbey led 12-6 heading into the final period Indianapolis scored each of the first two goals of the quarter, but Hanrahan found the back of the net with 6:49 to play. It was all the Crusaders needed, as they closed out the game with a 13-10 win On the day, Osborne was The Abbey's leader offensively, with two goals and four assists. He has now scored 26 goals on the year, putting him in a tie for first place in Conference Carolinas.
