RADNOR, Pa. – Senior Chase Cullison scored two goals and handed out three assists, while fellow senior Kyle Horak won 14-of-23 faceoffs to help Frostburg secure an 11-8 upset of No. 9 Cabrini, Saturday afternoon. The win pushes the Bobcats to 4-2 overall on the season and marks the third-straight year that Frostburg has knocked off a team ranked in the USILA Top-20 poll. The victory also snapped an 11-game winning streak for Cabrini at its home of Edith Robb Dixon Field. The Cavaliers (3-2) entered the game with the CSAC's top scoring offense at 12.5 goals per game, but the Bobcat defense held the hosts to just eight goals. Freshman keeper Jack Marks also notched a career-high with 12 saves, including seven in the second half. Frostburg jumped out to a 7-3 halftime cushion thanks to a run of four-straight goals in the second quarter. FSU later scored twice in the span of 47 seconds just past the midway point of the fourth quarter after Cabrini narrowed Frostburg's lead to 9-7. While Cullison paced the attack with five points, sophomore Jake Howarth, junior Keegan Colegrove and junior Adam Gross each scored twice. Gross also added an assist. To go along with his 14 wins at the X, Horak scooped up a career-best 10 ground balls. Gross opened the game's scoring with an unassisted tally at 11:36 in the first stanza. Cabrini answered with a goal at 6:11 in the first and started the second quarter with another score at 14:36. The Bobcats rattled off the contest's next five goals for a 6-2 advantage. Colegrove started the spurt with an unassisted tally at 13:20 and 50 seconds later, Cullison found Gross for a goal and a 3-2 lead. Cullison made the score 4-2 with an unassisted goal at 11:44 before freshman Jimmy Lucas (8:24) and Howarth (7:01) each scored as Frostburg surged to a 6-2 lead. The two schools traded goals before halftime and Cullison found freshman Paul Ruppert for a score with four seconds remaining in the opening half for a 7-3 edge at intermission. Cullison continued in the third where he left off in the second by finding Colegrove for his second goal of the game and an 8-3 lead. The Cavaliers scored three-straight goals to end the third quarter and narrow their deficit to 8-6 after three. Horak won the face off to open the fourth and Howarth scored just 19 seconds into the frame off a feed from senior John Gamber as FSU assumed a 9-6 edge. Timmy Brooks pulled Cabrini back to within two, 9-7 with an unassisted goal at 12:15. Frostburg answered when Lucas found freshman Justin Carroll for a goal at 7:06 and Cullison put the visitors up 11-7 with an unassisted goal 47 seconds later. Cabrini's Tyler Kostack closed the scoring with the final goal at 4:16.
