The fourth-seeded Wofford women's lacrosse team's season came to an end on Thursday afternoon, suffering a 21-4 setback to the top-seeded Furman Paladins (12-4, 4-0 SoCon) in the semifinals of the 2021 Southern Conference Championships at Five Star Stadium. The Paladins now await the winner of No. 2 Coastal Carolina versus No. 3 Mercer to determine who they will face in Saturday's championship match at Five Star Stadium. The junior tandem of Elisabeth Ralph and Ally Furnari led the Terriers with two points apiece on the day, as Ralph tallied two goals and Furnari recorded a goal and an assist. Ralph added two draw controls, a ground ball and caused turnover, while Furnari also recorded a draw control. The two conclude the season as Wofford's leading point-getters with 39 and 29 points, respectively, as Ralph completes a historic season for the program, marking a single-season goal record with 36 goals while also recording four assists. Furnari finishes with 23 goals and six assists on the season. Junior Shannon Wulff concludes the Terriers' scoring efforts on the day with her eighth goal of the season. Sophomore Emma Gentile tallied a team-best three draw controls, as Emma Krasinski followed with two draw controls and a caused turnover. Hannah Wurzel and Leah Hurley round out the Terriers' contributions with a draw control and ground ball, respectively. Sophomores Olivia Abé (nine goals, 13 assists) and Leah Hurley (nine goals, six assists) finish as Wofford's third and fourth-leading point-getters, with 22 and 15 points, respectively, as Gentile (11 goals, three assists) and Shannon Wulff (eight goals, six assists) both finished with 14 points on the year. Despite the loss, sophomore Aislinn Washburn recorded five saves in goal, while senior Kelsey Thompson added four for the match. Thompson finished with a team-best 79 saves for the season, while Washburn followed with 24. Wofford concludes the program's fourth season with a 2-9 overall record and 1-3 mark in the Southern Conference.
