Mars Hill entered the fourth quarter down 14-10, but outscored Newberry 7-3 to force the overtime frame. Following Cole Bates' goal to open the frame, the Lions reeled off five of the next six goals to pull within one goal. Trailing by two, Parker Beaudry struck twice in the final 1:52 to force the overtime frame. Newberry's Jeremy Ross, 2:17 into the overtime period, scored his second goal of the game to give the Wolves the win. Anthony Farmer opened the scoring for Mars Hill just 38 seconds into the first quarter with his first goal of the season.
