Playing its second game in four days, the Georgetown University men's lacrosse team defeated visiting Mount St. Mary's 14-7 on Tuesday afternoon. With the win, the No. 14/12 Hoyas improve to 4-0 on the season while the Mountaineers fall to 1-3 overall. HOYA HIGHLIGHTS • Jake Carraway nearly matched the Mount's entire offensive production himself, scoring six goals including a man-up and a man-down goal. • Carraway became just the third player in program history to reach the 200 career point mark. He joins standouts Greg McCavera (C'99) and Daniel Bucaro (C'19) on the list. • Declan McDermott and Dylan Watson both added three goals and an assist apiece while Graham Bundy Jr. and James Reilly both had a goal and an assist. • Robert Clark continued to prove to be one of Georgetown's top facilitators, handing out three assists. Will Godine added a lone assist as well. • For the third-straight game, the Hoyas dominated the 'X', winning 17-of-24 faceoffs. Reilly went 15-for-22 on the day while Carson Milburn won both faceoffs he took. Reilly tied his career high with 12 ground balls for the second time in three games. • Defensively, Owen McElroy collected nine saves between the pipes for his fourth win of the season. • The Hoyas were credited with eight caused turnovers, spread out over seven different players. Godine led the way with two from the defensive midfield. • Gibson Smith collected five ground balls while Chris Walker, Alex Mazzone and McElroy each had three. MOUNT ST. MARY'S NOTES • The Mountaineers fell to 1-3 overall on the season. • Brendan McCarthy led the Mount with two goals and an assist while no other player had multiple goals. • Bryan McIntosh had five caused turnovers on the defensive end and Dylan Furnback stopped 13 shots in net.
