The College of Saint Rose outscored host Post University 4-1 in the fourth quarter to earn this afternoon's 14-10 win. Senior attack Carter Badour equaled a career-high with seven points to lead the Golden Knights (1-1). He netted five goals, also a career-best, to go along with a pair of assists. Junior attack Jordyn Marchiano recorded three goals, while freshman midfielder Drew Carpino added two goals and two assists. Senior midfielder Nicolas Johnson was dominant in the face-off circle, winning 24-of-28 draws and scooping up 12 groundballs. Sophomore goalie Matthew Gill stopped 13 Eagle shots to garner his first collegiate victory. Sophomore midfielder Carlos Chacua scored five goals to top Post (1-1) Badour started out firing well early, completing a hat trick as Saint Rose took a 6-2 lead midway through the second quarter. The Eagles responded with three goals in a 5:05 span to go into the half trailing 6-5. Both squads tallied four goals in the third, giving the Golden Knights a one-goal lead heading to the final stanza. After Carpino opened the fourth-quarter scoring, Badour and Marchiano scored 52 seconds apart to give Saint Rose a 13-9 advantage with nine minutes remaining. Post was unable to get closer than three from there. Both teams are in action Saturday afternoon. The Golden Knights open league play at No. 7 and Upstate Challenge rival Le Moyne. Game time is set for 2:00 pm. Post hosts Franklin Pierce at 1:00 pm.
