The Arcadia University men's lacrosse program made a statement in its MAC Freedom opener Wednesday afternoon at Jean Lenox West Field, posting a 15-3 victory over visiting FDU-Florham. Brady Manion led the offense with a game and season-high four goals and six points, while Sean Connolly added a hat trick. Brian Albertsen and Ryan Anderson also each found the back of the net twice. Defensively, Timmy Fyock earned his second win of the season with just three goals surrendered and 12 saves in 56 minutes of action while the Knights caused a season-best 20 turnovers, led by James Barretta and Cameron Mang with three each. HOW IT HAPPENED -A majority of the opening quarter was a defensive battle where both sides were kept off the board for the first eight-plus minutes, but Brian Rusnak opened the scoring at the 6:11 mark before Anderson followed with his first of two on the day to give the Knights a 2-0 advantage after one. -Manion converted on Arcadia's first EMO early in the second quarter and Alex Adamczyk followed less than a minute later on an assist from Manion to extend the lead to four. The Devils registered their first score of the day - and lone goal of the half - to cut into the deficit, but Manion completed his hat trick with back-to-back scores in the final six minutes to give the Knights a 6-1 lead at the half. -The Knights came out of the break to strike for six goals in the third quarter to take a convincing lead, as Connolly netted two of his three goals in the quarter while Billy Burton scored his first collegiate goal with four-tenths of a second left on the game clock with a scoop and score in front of the net. -In total control in the fourth quarter, the Knights put the game away with three goals in the final 15 while keeping the Devils off the board yet again. After an FDU shot ricocheted off the post, Patrick Ensmenger collected the ground ball and went the length of the field to bury his first goal of the season before Connolly completed his hat trick in the final two minutes on an unassisted tally.
