The Beloit College men's lacrosse team topped Northland College 11-10 in an exciting back-and-forth affair on the road. In a game where the teams traded small runs, it was the Buccaneers' fourth quarter surge that would be the difference. The LumberJacks got on the board first with a goal just over eight minutes into the contest. Andrei Prikhodko tallied the equalizer, the first of his four goals in the game. Northland answered with a 3-0 scoring run to round out the first quarter with a 4-1 advantage. The Buc offense dominated the second quarter as Desean Brown found Tobin Greenwald and then Olaf Sorenson for two scores before Prikhodko connected with Hunter Brown for a man-up goal that tied the game 4-4 heading into halftime. Prikhodko found the back of the net less than a minute into the second half to give Beloit a 5-4 lead but the LumberJacks had the response rattling off four straight. Desean Brown beat the NC keeper off an assist from Prikhodko to halt the run and to pull Beloit to within two, 8-6, with one quarter remaining. Northland pushed the lead back to three, 9-6, with 13:31 left in the game before the Bucs' took over. Prikhodko notched an unassisted score at the 10:34 mark before a lull in offensive action took place. Another Prikhodko goal with 3:41 on the clock kick-started an offensive flurry for Beloit. Caleb Wachal scored 22 seconds after Prikhodko to knot the game 9-9. Hunter Brown gave Beloit the lead, 10-9, off an assist from Greenwald with just over a minute remaining and Keeler Tardiff gave the Bucs a two-goal cushion that would come in handy with just ten seconds remaining. Tardiff's late goal would be the game-winner as the LumberJacks tallied the final score of the game with just four seconds left on the clock. Prikhodko posted four goals and two assists to lead the Bucs' offense. Greenwald and Tardiff were active on the defensive end combining for 13 groundballs. Greenwald added eight caused turnovers, a mark that ties for second-most in a game in program history. Quinn Olsson picked up the complete game win in net recording 15 saves in the contest. Up Next: The Bucs will host Carroll University Saturday, March 7 at 5 p.m. in Strong Stadium.
