The Colgate women's lacrosse team held a late lead over the No. 10/8 Navy Midshipmen Saturday afternoon but fell by one goal, 13-12, in overtime at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Colgate's overtime loss to the Mids was its second straight overtime loss to a ranked team as the Raiders have battled against the stiff competition. The Raiders trailed the Mids by a goal before Kristen Brigagliano (Brightwaters, New York) tied the game with 19:28 to go in the second half. Brigagliano's goal opened up a stretch of four straight goals by the Raiders in a span of 2:57 to take a 12-9 lead on the nationally-ranked Mids with 16:31 to go in the second half. Navy's Jenna Collins scored three of the final four goals for Navy, including the game-tying goal with 22 seconds left in the half and the game-winner with just 16 seconds left in overtime on a woman-up opportunity. Haley O'Hanlon (Garden City, New York) recorded her seventh consecutive hat trick and tallied four points to lead the Raiders offensively while Natalie Gwynn (Canandaigua, New York), Brigagliano and Natalie Washuta (Chatham, New Jersey) each scored a pair of goals in the game. Samantha Croston (Mount Sinai, New York) tallied 10 saves for the fourth consecutive game. Croston made two big saves for the Raiders in overtime before Collins' game-winner Washuta put the Raiders up 1-0 in the first half before Navy responded with a pair of goals from Jenna and Julia Collins within 1:12 of each other. The Raiders scored the next four goals to take a 5-2 lead but the Mids scored five of the final seven goals in the first half. Colgate's Payton Gabriel (Lakewood, Colorado) scored the final goal of the first half with 48 seconds left to tie the game, 7-7.
