– Despite four goals and three assists from junior Keeley MacAfee, Harvard women's lacrosse team (3-6, 0-3 Ivy League) fell 18-14 to No. 18 Dartmouth (7-1, 3-0 Ivy League) on Saturday afternoon at Harvard Stadium. Harvard held a 17-16 edge on ground balls, but Dartmouth had a 35-31 advantage on shots, and a 20-13 edge on draw controls. Harvard goalkeeper Grace Rotondo, who entered the game at the 12:12 mark, made nine saves, while Kiera Vrindten made seven stops for Dartmouth. The Crimson owned a 9-8 lead after the opening 30 minutes of play, a half in which neither team led by more than two goals. Trailing 4-2, Harvard went on a four goal run to regain the lead in a span of 2:13 midway through the half. MacAfee capped off the run with a free-position goal, her third score of the half, on a great shot to the low left corner at 15:35. After Dartmouth rallied to take the lead at 8-7 with 6:58 to go in the half, senior Julia Glynn (three goals, assist) scored twice, including a quick shot off a feed from Nicole Baiocco with 1:56 to play to give the Crimson the lead at the half. The Crimson went ahead 10-8 on Hannah Keating's goal at 27:35, but Dartmouth regained the lead for good with five straight goals to go up 13-10 with 18:11 to go in the second half. Harvard pulled to within two at 14-12 on Keating's third goal of the game on a quick shot from just outside the circle off a feed from Madison Conklin with 15:41 to go. But Dartmouth maintained its lead the rest of the way. Game Notes Dartmouth's win snapped a three-game Harvard winning streak in the series. Harvard leads the all-time series 22-21-1 Senior Julia Glynn (37 goals, 16 assists) and junior Keeley MacAfee (37 goals, 15 assists) have powered one of the nation's top offensive teams through the first eight games of this season. Up Next Harvard will take on Boston University on Wednesday (7 p.m.) in a road contest and then will be back at home next Saturday (April 7) to take on No. 19 Princeton in a 1 p.m. contest at Harvard Stadium. That game will air on NESNplus and the Ivy League Network.
