Sophomore attacker Luke Swaddling (Strongsville/Lakewood St. Edward) and junior attacker Will Anton (Madison, N.J.) each scored to give Ohio Wesleyan a first-quarter lead, but fourth-ranked Rochester Institute of Technology took the lead with an 8-0 run and went on to a non-conference win over the Bishops on Saturday in Rochester, N.Y. Swaddling put the Bishops on the scoreboard just over a minute into the game, and after the Tigers evened the score on a Dawson Tait goal, Anton scored for a 2-1 Ohio Wesleyan lead with 9:33 left in the first period. RIT evened the game on a Ryan Rosenblum goal midway through the first quarter, then took the lead on Damon Currie's goal in the final seconds of the period. Quinn Commandant scored in the opening minute of the second period, and the Tigers erupted for 5 goals in a stretch of just over 2 minutes later in the quarter to extend the lead to 9-2. Swaddling opened the third-quarter scoring with a goal, but the hosts scored the next 6 goals to pull away. Swaddling led the Bishops with 2 goals, while Anton finished with a goal and an assist. Senior Joey Sichenzia (Sayville, N.Y.) stopped 17 shots in the Ohio Wesleyan goal. Commandant led the Tigers with 3 goals and 2 assists. Walker Hare and Drew Hutchison combined for 9 saves in the Tiger crease.
