For the first time in program history, the No. 5 Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Team won their fifth straight game to start a season. The 5-0 Bears topped the 2018 squad for the best start in program history as the '18 version started 4-0 before their first loss. LR went on to go 17-3 that season and advanced to the National Semifinal. INSIDE THE MATCHUP: Final: Lenoir-Rhyne 21, Anderson 11 Records: Lenoir-Rhyne (5-0, 3-0 SAC), Anderson (4-3, 2-2 SAC) Location: Trojan Stadium STATS OF THE GAME: • Lenoir-Rhyne took control of the game early and never looked back. Toron Eccleson started the scoring spree as Lenoir-Rhyne tallied the first nine goals of the game and held Anderson scoreless for the first 18:49 of the game. • Myles Moffat and Eccleston each finished with four goals and Bryce Reece added three goals and an assist. Eric Dickinson notched a hat trick on five shots • Will Canata had a pair of assists in the win • Noah Johnson made seven saves in his 42 minutes of action to improve to 5-0 on the year • The 14-goal win was the biggest win since a 19-1 win over Mars Hill on April 13, 2019 • 11 different LR players scored a goal in the win • Lenoir-Rhyne held a 51-33 advantage in shots and went 19-of-21 in clears • LR only committed four turnovers in the game BEYOND THE BOX SCORE: • This is the first loss for Anderson at Trojan Stadium. AU had been 4-0 at home prior to tonight • Queens and Lenoir-Rhyne are the last remaining unbeaten teams in conference play • LR improves to 51-12 all-time as a ranked team • Dating back to last season, Lenoir-Rhyne has won nine straight games • Lenoir-Rhyne is now 80-27 all-time against unranked opponents and have won 14 straight • Lenoir-Rhyne was one goal shy of tying the program record for most goals in a game UP NEXT: The Bears are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Queens for a 4 p.m. matchup.
