HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Sophomore Nick Biango scored a career-high four goals but a four goal run that bridged the third and fourth quarters lifted Immaculata University to a 9-7 win over the Centenary University men's lacrosse team in nonconference action on Wednesday afternoon. The Cyclones struck first in the contest as Biango scored off a pass from sophomore Kyle Mott at the 10:04 mark of the first quarter. Immaculata scored the next three goals of the game and took a 3-1 advantage with 8:18 to go in the second period. Ethan Johnson scored a pair of goals for the Mighty Macs during that stretch. Back-to-back goals from Centenary tied the game at 3-3 with 3:39 showing on the clock. Junior Nick Bogert struck for a man-up goal off a pass from Biango before Biango scored off a feed from Mott. The Mighty Macs went briefly back on top, 4-3 before Biango completed his hat trick and tied the game at 4-4, with 48 seconds to go in the period. The Cyclones came out strong to start the third quarter as a goal from Mott at 11:13 gave the home team, a 5-4 edge. Biango struck for his fourth of the day at 5:53 and Centenary held a 6-4 lead in the game. A goal from Steve Long at 3:10 started the game changing run for the Mighty Macs. That 4-0 run bridged the third and fourth quarters and turn a two-goal deficit into an 8-6 lead for the visitors. Long scored twice for the Mighty Macs during that scoring spurt. Junior Chris Howell pulled the Cyclones to within one, 8-7 with his man-up goal at 7:47. Immaculata added a goal from Long at 1:41 and claimed the 9-7 victory. Denton States made eight saves, including three in the fourth quarter to secure the win in goal for Immaculata. Sophomore Ryan Lacamera made 13 saves, including six in the fourth quarter for the Cyclones. Biango finished with four goals and one assist for five points to lead the Cyclones. Mott added a goal and three assists while Howell contributed a goal and an assist and won 15 of 18 faceoffs. Freshman Christopher Festa led the defensive efforts with four caused turnovers and two ground balls. Long led Immaculata with four goals and nine ground balls. The Cyclones are back in action on Saturday, March 2 as they travel to Drew for a 1 p.m. game.
