(Granger Field) -The Lead: The Clark University men's lacrosse team used 17 goals from 12 different players to lift them over the Emerson College Lions in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon. Just a minute later Sullivan forced a turnover by the Lions, Wogan picked up the ground ball and made his way down the field to find first year Noah Skole (Longmeadow, Mass.) who put in the Cougar's fifth unanswered goal of the game. Philbin won the very next face-off and found Skole open again who netted his second goal of the game for the 6-0 lead. -At the 6:23 mark junior Chris Rasco (Huntington, N.Y.) found sophomore Dan Turgeon (Holden, Mass.) open in front of the net and Turgeon blew one by Emerson goalkeeper, freshman Malcolm McGrath (Ridgefield, Conn.), as the Cougar's pulled ahead, 7-0. -The Lions came alive with a goal at the 4:08 mark. With Maselek out of the goal for Clark, the Cougars turned the ball over in a clearing attempt and the ball was intercepted by first year Hunter Gervais (Johnston, R.I.) who rolled the ball to the back of the net for the visitor's first tally of the day (7-2). -Clark notched one more goal before the buzzer when sophomore Tyler Vincent (Sammamish, Wash.) rounded the crease from behind the net and took an opening over McGrath's right side for the 8-1 lead heading into the halftime break. -The Cougars outscored the Lions 5-0 in the third quarter. Their first goal came at the 12:57 mark when Hollerbach made a run at goal from 40 yards out and found room on the left side to take an open shot for the 9-1 lead. After seven minutes of scoreless play Clark added four more goals in the final five minutes of the quarter. Mandrachhia took the ball to the right post and dished it to first year Thomas McCarthy (York, Maine) on the left post who dropped it in behind McGrath at the 5:36 mark (10-1). Under a minute later Vincent helped himself to his second unassisted goal of the game with a shot under the feet of McGrath for the 11-1 lead. Clark won the next face-off and Caione found an open Brandes in the middle who buried his second goal of the game at the 4:34 mark (12-1). Before the end of the quarter Hollerbach assisted on a Pierce goal for the 13-1 lead heading into the final 15 minutes. -Two minutes into the fourth, the Cougars forced an Emerson turnover at midfield that was picked up by Pierce and dished to Wogan who tallied their 14th goal of the game at the 13:48 mark. The Lions got a goal back on the next possession when senior Jared Bush (Detroit, Mich.) put one in on an assist from first year Alex Hrisanthopoulos (Carlsbad, Calif.) (14-2). Clark freshman Daniel Caramadre (Cranston, R.I.) and Wogan added back-to-back goals before Hrisanthopoulos helped himself to a goal for Emerson's third of the day.
