Junior Riley McNulty became the first player in program history to reach the 200 point plateau and he set the single-season school record for goals and points scored and also tied the single-season assist mark as Coast Guard cruised to a 14-9 win over Mass. Maritime in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game. McNulty scored four goals and added three assists in the win to finish the game with 205 career points with 128 goals and 77 assists in his career. He now has a record 45 goals and 72 points while tying the mark with 27 assists this season. He set single-season records with 44 goals, 27 assists and 71 points last season. He wasted little time reaching the 200 point milestone as he scored the first two goals of the game, the second with 10:23 left in the first quarter with goalkeeper Trey Johnson assisting. McNulty broke the single-season record with his fourth goal of the game with 12:17 left in the third quarter to give the Bears a 12-3 lead. The Bears would jump out to a 6-0 lead following Benner Geurtsen's second goal of the game with 4:09 left in the first quarter. Coast Guard led 9-2 after the first quarter with McNulty leading the way with a trio of goals. The Bears led 11-3 at the half and 14-4 after three. Coast Guard had a commanding 14-3 lead with 4:23 left in the third before the Bucs scored the final six goals of the game. Trey Johnson (10-3) made four saves playing the first half to record the win in goal for the Bears, who used a trio of goalies in the second half. Ted Powers led Mass. Maritime with four goals while Franklin Ragge added three goals in the loss. Coast Guard improves to 1-3 overall and 4-1 in conference play while the Buccaneers drop to 6-7 overall and 0-5 in the NEWMAC. The Bears are back in action on Wednesday night in a NEWMAC game at Emerson at 7:00.
