- The Medaille Mavericks men's lacrosse team (0-7, 0-0 NEAC) played host to Concordia University Friday afternoon. Medaille was in search of their first win of the season, but today was again not their day. The Mavericks were felled by a final score of (16-3) to visiting Concordia, as the blue and gold remained winless on the campaign. Medaille found themselves down (4-1) after the first quarter, and (13-1) by halftime. Concordia rode goals from nine different players in the first half, including a hat trick by Keijo Day. The lone goal for the Mavericks came from the stick of Tyler Fales (Batavia, NY, Batavia). Concordia boasted a ridiculous (28-9) shot advantage ahead of halftime, and it showed on the scoreboard. 8410 Fales scored Medaille's first goal The second half was not much better for Medaille. Though they only trailed in shots (18-16), their 12-goal first half deficit ultimately did them in despite the much lower-scoring second half. Concordia was able to cruise to the road victory over the Mavericks (16-3) even though they only found the back of the net three more times, all coming in the fourth quarter of play following a fruitless third. The second half goal-scorers for Medaille were Ben Erickson (Franklinville, NY, Franklinville) and Jake Rush (Hamburg, NY, Frontier). The Mavericks will next try to break their goose-egg win total on Saturday, March 30th in another home tilt against the La Roche College RedHawks. The contest is set to start at 1:00 p.m. from the Medaille Sports Complex at Buffalo Color Park.
