Freshman Sam Fish made a career-high 16 saves to help No. 19 Princeton to a 15-6 win at Delaware on Saturday, March 31. It was a balanced scoring effort as eight Tigers found twine. Senior Ellie McNulty had a huge effort with a hat trick, four draws, four caused turnovers and five ground balls. Freshman Kyla Sears had a hat trick as well while junior Allie Rogers led the team with five points on two goals and three assists. Juniors Kathryn Hallett and Elizabeth George each scored twice and sophomore Tess D'Orsi had one goal and one assist. The Princeton defense did a great job on leading scorer Becky Gohsler who was held to just one goal, coming on a free-position. The Blue Hens jumped out to a 4-2 lead midway through the first half before Princeton called a timeout. That would serve as a major turning point for the Tigers as Princeton came back to the field scoring the game's next 10 goals. Five of those came in the first half, as Princeton took a 7-4 lead into halftime but wasn't finished, tacking on five more goals in the second to take a 12-4 lead at 17:26. Megan Santoleri was able to end the Delaware drought of nearly 19 minutes with an unassisted score at 15:03. Princeton closed out the final 15 minutes on a 3-1 run with the one goal allowed being an eight-meter attempt. Taylor Carpentier made 11 saves in goal for the Blue Hens, as shots finished 33 apiece. Princeton, now 5-4 overall, faces Harvard next Saturday, April 7 in Cambridge, Mass., before returning home for a four game homestand beginning with Maryland on Tuesday, April 10.
