GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College men's lacrosse team defeated the Panthers of Ferrum College on Pride Field Wednesday 9-4. Patrick Bell gave Greensboro a 1-0 lead just seven seconds into the first period before Ferrum scored the game's next two goal to take a 2-1 lead into the second period. The score remained the same until four minutes remaining in the half before Ferrum extended their lead to 3-1. However, Greensboro quickly pulled back to within one when Davis Miller found the back of the net off an assist from Michael Halladay. Greensboro was not done scoring in the half as Miller struck once again just one minute later to send the game into the half tied at three goals apiece. Ferrum was able to regain a one-goal advantage just two minutes into the third but Greensboro got goals by Michael Sehlhorst, Spencer Kontoulas, and Dominic Scali over the final 13 minutes of the period to take a 6-4 lead into the final 15 minutes. Phillip Gerber then scored two goals and Halladay added one goal in the final ten minutes to pull away for the four-goal victory. Kyle Ishler picked up the win after recording six saves. The Pride men will return action at 2 p.m. Saturday when they travel to NCAA Division I foe Hampton University.
