Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (2-0) scored the first five goals of the game and rolled to a 16-6 victory over Haverford College (0-3) on Wednesday night. Erik Anderson (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.) led the Ospreys with four goals and four assists for eight points. Luc Swedlund (Randolph/Randolph) got the Ospreys off and running with his 10th goal of the year at the 10:38 mark for a 1-0 lead. Stockton then tallied four more goals in the last 3:56 of the period for a commanding 5-0 margin. Eric Ellis (Voorhees/Eastern), Swedlund and two scores by freshman Dante Poli (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks South) gave Stockton the advantage. In the second period, Eric D'Arminio (Roxbury/Roxbury), Colin Shea (Rumson/Rumson-Fair Haven) and Joey Tiernan (Voorhees/Eastern) offset two Fords goals for an 8-2 lead at the break. Anderson assisted on two of the markers. The Ospreys won the third period 5-3 to up the margin to 13-5 after three frames. Three goals by Anderson and solo scores by Swedlund and Poli gave the Ospreys the eight-goal lead. Swedlund, Peter Burke (Shamong/Seneca) and Anderson capped off the 16-6 victory with goals in the final quarter. In addition to Anderson's big night, Swedlund added four goals, with Poli chipping in with three markers. D'Arminio dished two assists and tied Ryan Bradley (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) with three ground balls for team high honors. Justin Ruiz had a spectacular night in net with 14 saves and a .700 save percentage, playing the first 56:47 of the contest. Thomas Sullivan (Morristown/Morristown) finished up, making one save. Haverford was led by Stephen DeLeo and Sean Mowatt-Larssen with two goals each. Goalkeeper Dylan Slack made 10 saves in the loss. Stockton will finish up their three-game home stand to begin the season on Saturday. The ospreys will face Southern Virginia University for an 11 am start.
