The Endicott men's lacrosse team defeated Roger Williams, 14-8, in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament semifinal round on Wednesday night at Hempstead Stadium. Domenic Russo (Northborough, Mass.) led the Gulls offensively with a career-high six goals on seven shots. Endicott also received a five-point effort (1g, 4a) from Nick Pagluiso (Shelton, Conn.) and solo tallies via Jack Sutherland (Sudbury, Mass.), Craig Claflin (Natick, Mass.), John Koebel (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.), Jaden Elsinger (Jericho, Vt.), Sam Abate (Beverly, Mass.), Sam DesMarais (York, Maine), and Max Kesicki (Katonah, N.Y.) in the victory. Meanwhile, Austin Fournier (Martha's Vineyard, Mass.) improved to 11-2 in the cage with 10 saves for the Gulls. Leading 5-3 early in the second quarter, Endicott rattled off five straight goals to put a seven-goal gap on the scoreboard. Russo fueled the run with back-to-back goals at 10:22 and 7:15 (up) before he capped the offensive outburst with 1:53 remaining in the half. Roger Williams responded with three straight goals that spilled into the third quarter to make it 10-6, but the Gulls remained poised and answered with a three-goal run of their own (13-6) to put the game on ice. BEYOND THE BOX SCORE Russo has scored six goals in a game twice in his career (4/24/2021 – UNE | 5/5/2021 – Roger Williams). He now leads the CCC in goals with 42 this season. Endicott is 28-6 all-time against the Hawks. The Gulls pushed their home record to 6-0 this season. WHAT'S NEXT First-seeded Endicott (11-2) will host the winner of No. 2 Western New England and No. 3 Salve Regina in the CCC Championship on Saturday, May 8 at 1 PM. Roger Williams sees its 2021 season come to a close at 8-4 overall. For the latest on Endicott Athletics, follow the Gulls on social media on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
