After the game was delayed by more than an hour due to lightning in the area, Pallozzi gave ECU a 2-1 lead with 27:34 remaining in the opening half. Duke's Abby Landry tied the game at 2-2 13 seconds after Pallozzi's goal and the Blue Devils scored xx unanswered 5-2 unanswered to take a 6-2 lead. Madison Lear stopped the Blue Devils' run with a goal with 22:06 left until halftime to pull ECU within three goals, 6-3. The Blue Devils scored six straight goals to take a 12-4 lead before Pallozzi scored her third goal of the day with 16:15 left until halftime. Duke scored four in a row to lead 16-4 then Ally Stanton and Sam Caputo netted back-to-back goals to send the Pirates into the halftime locker room down 10, 16-6. The Blue Devils scored the opening two goals of the second half before Pallozzi scored her fourth with 23:11 to play. Harney added her fifth goal with 8:19 to play and Duke scored three of the final four goals of the game.
