Torzilli and Paul Hanrahan had six ground balls and Luzzi and Spencer Sundeberg had five each. Luzzi stuffed a shot under the bar from near the right post to give MU a 1-0 lead in the opening minute. Torzilli drove down the middle and placed a low shot inside the right post to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead, but Stockton answered with four straight goals over the next four minutes. McSwiggan found Luzzi on the left wing from behind the net to get MU within 4-3. Stockton went up 5-3 with 1:41 to play in the first quarter and Robert Wagner scored less than a minute later to pull the Cougars within 5-4. Stockton scored six straight goals to open the second quarter before Torzilli came from behind the net and scored inside the right post to cut the deficit to 11-5. Torzilli scored a man-up goal to open the third quarter and Garrett Heidecker scooped up a loose ball near midfield and scored to make it 11-7.
