The Otterbein men's lacrosse team got back into the win column with a lopsided contest Saturday afternoon, scoring early and often en route to a 21-7 victory against Muskingum inside Memorial Stadium. The Cardinals, playing another game in rainy conditions, improve themselves to 11-4 on the year and now 6-1 within the Ohio Athletic Conference. HOW IT HAPPENED: Otterbein jumped all over the Muskies early, holding an 8-0 lead after the first quarter and then 14-0 just before halftime. Xander Seal erupted for eight points (4G, 4A) before getting almost all of the second half to rest. Muskingum (5-9, 1-6 OAC) scored with 40 seconds remaining before the break to get on the board. The Cards worked in different lines and rotations throughout the second half, running the gap to 19-3 early in the fourth and coasting to victory. Muskingum added a culminating goal at the buzzer to complete the relatively high-scoring afternoon. INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Seal now has four games this year with over six points, three of those coming in the past two weeks. He now has 53 points on the year and is one behind Joe Sanfillipo for the team lead. Otterbein had 12 different players score on the day, with Judson Juston adding a hat trick and Logan Fenech, Robby Fields, Drew McDonald and Collin Troxell all scoring twice. Otterbein had 56 shot attempts from start to finish, its fourth time over 50 in a game this spring. The Cards won 22 of 31 faceoffs. UP NEXT: Otterbein will approach judgment week with a pair of key league games, first traveling to Ohio Northern on Wednesday before welcoming Baldwin Wallace to town next Saturday in the regular-season finale.
