Stockton University (2-0) built an 8-3 lead in the first 17 minutes of the game and rolled to an 18-6 victory over McDaniel College (1-2) in the home opener for the Ospreys. Ten Stockton players registered points, led by Erik Anderson (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.) with three goals and four assists. Dante Poli (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks South) scored a game-high four goals and dished two assists for six points. Eric Ellis (Voorhees/Eastern) and Luc Swedlund (Randolph/Randolph) each tallied three goals and one assist while Eric D'Arminio (Roxbury/Roxbury) contributed two goals and two assists. McDaniel scored the first two markers of the game before goals by Ellis and Anderson tied the match 2-2. After the teams exchanged tallies for a 3-3 deadlock, Stockton netted four goals in the last 4:02 of the first quarter. Poli, Swedlund, Patrick Dunleavy (Medford/Bishop Eustace) and Anderson found the net for a 7-3 lead after one period. In the second stanza, Peter Burke (Shamong/Seneca) capped the run of five straight Stockton goals to make it 8-3. Ellis and D'Arminio each potted counters in the last 1:24 of the period for a 10-4 advantage at the half. Stockton then put the game away with four straight goals in the third quarter while its stout defense kept the Green Terror scoreless until the final minute of the period. Swedlund and Anderson scored the first two goals and then defender Matt Honchalk (Monrovia, Md./Linganore) fired in his first career goal. Poli followed with a marker and freshman Ryan Anderson (Avon-by-the-Sea/Manasquan) notched his first career point with an assist on the play. The Ospreys led 14-5 after three and clinched the 18-6 triumph with a 4-1 fourth quarter on two goals by Poli and one each by Swedlund, assisted by Poli, and D'Arminio. Stockton goalkeeper Justin Ruiz (Holmdel/Holmdel) earned the win with five saves in the first three periods. Freshman goalie Eric Lindskog (Montville/Montville) made his college debut in the fourth quarter and registered one save. Logan Holleritter (Oak Ridge/Jefferson Twp.) topped the Ospreys with seven ground balls. Jackson Reilly and Nick DeLoriers paced McDaniel with two goals and an assist apiece. The Green Terror used three goalies and Brighton Lorber topped the trio with eight saves in 30:09 of game action.
