On an afternoon where Harvard honored its 15-member senior class, the men's lacrosse team fell to Princeton, 15-10, on Saturday afternoon at Harvard Stadium. Senior Joe Lang led the way with three goals, while classmates Morgan Cheek and Carney Mahon tallied three points each on two goals and an assist. Senior Robert Shaw made 10 saves in goal, while sophomore Jonathan Butler caused a game-high three turnovers. The Crimson got out to an early 2-0 lead after goals from Connor McCroskey and Mahon, but the Tigers responded with a run of their own to take a 7-2 lead. Harvard managed to pull one back right before halftime, as senior Robert Mencke powered one into the top corner. Lang opened the second half with a pair of goals, and Harvard entered the fourth quarter trailing by five, 10-5. The Crimson made it a game with four straight scores to open the period, bookended by Lang completing his hat trick and freshman Frankie Tangredi netting his first-career goal. Princeton rallied for a run of its own to close the game, winning 10-5. Harvard Highlights Lang tallied his third hat trick of the season, and the ninth of his career. Cheek and Mahon extended their point streaks to 43 and 14 games, respectively. Freshman Steven Cuccurullo was nearly unbeatable at the faceoff X, going 17-for-23 on the afternoon. Game Notes Harvard celebrated its 15-member senior class before the game: Beau Bayh, Peter Blynn, Morgan Cheek, Sean Coleman, Tim Edmonds, Spencer Evans, Michael Farber, Joe Kearney, Joe Lang, Carney Mahon, Robert Mencke, John O'Leary, J.T. Palladino, Jake Scott and Robert Shaw. Harvard outshot the Tigers by a plus-22 margin, but the Tigers' goalies combined for 20 saves in the game. What's Next?
