Holy Cross became the third team in four games to score the first goal of the game to take an early lead. Logan LeBlond put an unassisted goal past Nick Washuta 1:16 into the contest. Like the previous games, Vermont responded to the quick goal allowed with five unanswered goals to take a 5-1 lead. Ben French, Davis, Hudson, MacKay, and Liam Rischmann added goals for the Catamounts in the run. Rowan Hart made it 5-2 Vermont with 3 seconds remaining in the open quarter off an assist from LeBlond. The teams traded man-up opportunities and chances at each end through the first half of the second quarter. The Crusaders were the first to score in the period as Sean Mullaney made it 5-3 with 7:07 remaining. Vermont tallied three goals through the remaining seven minutes of the half with goals from Davis, Hudson, and Charlie Cobb. The Catamounts continued the scoring outburst with the next four goals out of the gate to start the second half. The Cat defense remained stout and kept the Crusaders off the board for the entirety of the third quarter. Hudson recorded his first hat trick in the third while Limoges and Mark Marciano added goals. Through three quarters, Washuta recorded three saves for Vermont between the pipes. Davis finished off his hat trick 57 seconds into the fourth quarter to push the Vermont lead to 10 at 13-3. Ryan Cornell entered the game in relief of Washuta with 10:15 remaining in the final quarter and stopped the lone shot he faced. French added his second of the game with 7:47 to play and Limoges added his second of the game with 5:13 remaining in the fourth quarter to push the Vermont lead to 15-3. The final five minutes were scoreless as Vermont beat the Crusaders by a final of 15-3. UVM did not allow a goal in the final 37 minutes of play. With the victory, the Cats Win, Community Wins campaign and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate another $100 to the Boys and Girls Club of Burlington, bringing this year's total to 99 wins and $9,900. UVM will play its fifth straight road game next Saturday, Feb. 24 against Quinnipiac. The game against the Bobcats is scheduled for 12 p.m. in Hamden, Connecticut.
