The Northland College Men's Lacrosse team traveled to Mount Vernon, IA today for a matchup vs. Cornell College. The Jacks would stymie off a late push from Cornell and take the game 16-14. The Jacks wasted no time in the first, jumping out to the early 3-0 lead with goals from Michael Lant, Quentin Borreams and Michael Quarve. After a Cornell goal, Doug Keiser would hit the twine, making it 4-1 in favor of the Jacks. Cornell would however add three late goals in the first tying it up at 4-4. A minute into the second, the dominate Doug Keiser would hit the net for his second goal of the game. He was assisted by Michael Lant. Just one minute later, Tron Trondson would score UP to make it 6-4 for the Jacks. After a Cornell goal, the Jacks would rattle off four straight goals, from Trondson, Keiser and Jakob Wohlford, as the Jacks would take the 10-5 lead into the half. The Jacks wouldn't lay off the gas to open the 3rd as Tron Trondson would add two more goals in the game, as the Jacks took the 13-6 lead. Cornell would however up the pressure and rattle off 6 straight goals going into the 4th to make it a one goal game 13-12 for the Jacks. Nick Anderson would come up with a clutch DN goal to make it 14-12 with 12 minutes remaining. Cornell added a goal a minute later to make it 14-13 but Tron Trondson would put the icing on the cake late in the fourth with two goals to make it 16-13. Cornell would add a goal with a minute remaining but the Jacks would go on to take the game 16-14. Tron Trondson would lead all LumberJacks with 6 goals in the game. Doug Keiser added 4 goals and 3 assists for the Jacks. Matt Follmer would get the start in net for the Jacks, making 19 saves. Next up for the Jacks is a road trip to Monmouth, IL for a matchup vs. Monmouth College on April 20th. Game time is set for 1pm.
