Appearing in the Atlantic 10 Championship for the first time since the 2016 season, Duquesne concluded the 2019 campaign on Thursday evening in the quarterfinal round as defending champion Richmond claimed a 20-8 victory at George Mason Stadium. The Dukes close the year with a 9-8 overall mark while the Spiders improve to 15-3 on the season, advancing to Friday's semifinal vs. host George Mason. KEY STATS Sarah Kollhoff and Maddie Hart netted two goals apiece to lead Duquesne. Kollhoff added a game-high seven draw controls. Hart tallied six draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers. Carlee Braverman, Megan Buettner, Alana Piano and Courtney Battles each recorded a goal for the Dukes. Michaela Connolly dished out an assist, as well. Rilee Bradshaw had four draw controls for Duquesne. Mia Castagnero led all players with six goals for Richmond. Duquesne finished with 19 draw controls compared to the Spiders' 11. GAME NOTES Duquesne's nine wins under first-year head coach were the most since the 2016 season. The Dukes shattered single-season program records for goals with 270, points with 371 and shots attempted with 669. Maddie Hart is now the program's all-time leader in draw controls with 212, besting Ginger Falco's record of 198 set from 2002-05. Hart also topped her own single-season school record with 117 in 2019. Rilee Bradshaw's 54 goals in 2019 are tied for fifth in a single season in program history. She netted the most goals since Amanda Kidder (57) in 2014. Michaela Connolly's 25 assists are tied for sixth in a single season in school history.
