The University of Montevallo men's lacrosse team fell to the No.6 ranked University of Indianapolis men's lacrosse team 17-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament semifinal. Sophomore Ryan Shea led the Falcons offensively, scoring two goals in the first ever postseason game in program history. Freshmen Kordell Primus, Dante Cloutier, and Anthony Pecoraro each added one goal. Sophomore Thomas Vaesen scored one goal and added one assist in the contest. Vaesen totaled his 71st goal and 85th point of the season in the loss. Primus led the Falcons defensively, totaling three caused turnovers and two ground balls. Sophomore goalkeeper Kyle Little registered 13 saves. The Falcons finish the 2019 season, and second season in program history, 6-9 overall and 3-4 in conference play. KEY GOALS 1st (12:02) | Sophomore Ryan Shea scored unassisted for the Falcons to tie Indianapolis 1-1. 1st (07:45) | Shea scored his second goal of the day to give the Falcons a 2-1 lead scoring off an assist from freshman Dante Cloutier. 1st (6:52) | Parker Johnson scored off an assist from Robbie Berardi to give the Greyhounds a 3-2 lead over the Falcons. 3rd(9:54) | Freshman Anthony Pecoraro ends a ten goal run by the Greyhounds, scoring for the Falcons off an assist from sophomore Thomas Vaesen to trail Indianapolis 11-3. 4th (14:41) | Cloutier scored off an assist from Shea to cut the Greyhounds lead to 14-4. 4th (07:15) | Vaesen scored his first goal of the game, assisted by freshman Connor Frederick to trail Indianapolis 15-5. 4th (05:15) | Freshman Kordell Primus scored unassisted as Montevallo trailed Indianapolis 16-6. GAME NOTES Indianapolis outshot the Falcons 58-26 in the contest. The Greyhounds placed 30 shots on goal while the Falcons placed just 19 on goal. The Falcons turned the ball over 19 times, compared to 15 turnovers by the Greyhounds. Indianapolis finished with a 19-6 edge in face offs won. The Greyhounds compiled 40 ground balls compared to 20 ground balls by Montevallo. Indianapolis cleared 13-of-17 attempts while Montevallo finished just 15-of-26 in clears. Montevallo totaled 13 saves in the contest compared to eight for Indianapolis.
