A big fourth-quarter rally fell short for the Southwestern University Pirates men's lacrosse team, losing to the Colorado College Tigers 13-10 in the SCAC championship game. The Pirates fell behind 4-2 in the first quarter with the Tigers' Max Rieser assisting and scoring back-to-back goals at the 10:29 and 8:21 marks. Everett Barger scored the Pirates' first goal of the game on a pass from Kai Night-Turcan with a man advantage to tie the game at 1-1. Jared Welsh found Zach Taylor with an advantage again at the 5:32 mark to bring the Pirates to within 3-2 but John Sutro scored on a pass from Tyler Borko to give the Tigers the two-point advantage. Southwestern tied the game with two consecutive goals in the second, getting a Knight-Turcan score off a Jarrett Zillmann assist 15 seconds into the quarter and Welsh finding Cody Foster for another advantage goal to tie the game at 4-4 at the 12:44 mark. Colorado College scored four of the last five goals in the half, getting a pair of unassisted scored from Sutro and Woo and responding to a Southwestern goal by Foster form Nick Doxey with scored from Tom Haller and Borko. The Tigers gained separation in the third quarter with Borko scoring three consecutive goals before the Pirates' Foster ended the run with a goal off a pass from Barger with eight seconds remaining in the quarter to trail 11-6 going into the fourth. After Colorado College's Coby Petau scored an unassisted goal to open the fourth, the Pirates responded with four consecutive scores, getting a Jack Doloszycki goal off a feed from Zac Asbury and three unassisted goals from Blake Sterger, Knight-Turcan, and Foster with the last score coming at the 7:03 mark. The Tigers' Jack O'Donnell scored off a pass from Sutro at the 3:25 mark to put the game away. Foster led the Pirates with four goals and senior goalie Kyle Kuberski had a total of 18 saves for the Pirates. Men's lacrosse finishes their season 10-7 and Colorado College improves to 8-7, winning the SCAC Championship.
