Second-ranked Boston College scored eight unanswered goals to propel the Eagles past No. 23 Notre Dame, 17-7, in the semifinal of the ACC Women's Lacrosse Championship Friday at Koskinen Stadium on the campus of Duke University. Boston College improved to 19-0 on the season, which is a new program record for most wins in a single-season. This will be BC's first appearance in the ACC championship game. The game changed when the Eagles shut down the Irish offense in the final 13:54 of the first half. While the defense was stifling, the offense turned it on with six straight goals to take an 11-4 lead at the half. During the run, Dempsey Arsenault and Hart each had two goals, while Apuzzo and Tara Schurr registered a goal each. The momentum continued as Arsenault scored 11 seconds into the second half, followed by a tally from sophomore Cara Urbank and the lead extended to 13-4. BC responded with three straight goals from Apuzzo, Urbank and Taylor Walker as the 10-goal lead kept the clock running. BC held Notre Dame to just three goals in the second half to advance to the championship game on Sunday.
