The No. 10 Navy women's lacrosse team (15-3) posted a 20-5 victory over Lehigh (13-6) on Friday night to advance to the Patriot League Championship for the eighth time in school history and the fourth consecutive year. The Mids will play top-seeded Loyola at 12:00 p.m., and the game will be aired on CBS Sports Network. "It was a great win for Navy," head coach Cindy Timchal said after the game. "There were some sloppy things, but we committed to knowing that it wasn't going to be a perfect game. The players came out strong. We knew how tough Lehigh was last year. They took us to the very end. We wanted to play strong and composed. We did a lot of great things tonight. We know that we have a very tough game against the number-one seed in undefeated in our conference, Loyola on Sunday. We have a lot of respect for them. We know that they are extraordinarily good and we are going to have our hands full." Offensively, Julia Collins (Clarksville, Md.) led the Mids with five goals and two assists, while Kelly Larkin (Alexandria, Va.) had four assists to go with one goal. Jenna Collins (Clarksville, Md.) recorded her 16th hat trick of the season with a five-point effort (3g 2a), while Natalie Irwin (Annandale, Va.) tallied her first collegiate hat trick with three goals. With her two assists, Jenna Collins became the first player in Navy women's lacrosse history with 200 or more goals and 100 or more assists. The senior now has 214 career goals with 100 career assists for 314 career points. Larkin's four helpers in the game gave the sophomore 100 for her career. She joined Jenna Collins as the second and third players in Navy history with 100 or more assists. The duo trail only Jasmine DePompeo (2010-13) who holds the all-time school record with 167 assists. Defensively, Ingrid Boyum (Herndon, Va.) had six saves to pick up her 14th victory of the season. Marie Valenti (Bechtelsville, Pa.) picked up three ground balls, Andi O'Sullivan (Valley Cottage, N.Y.) paced the team with seven draw controls. The defense held Lehigh to just five goals, marking the fifth consecutive game that the Navy back line has held an opponent to single-digit goals.
