Clinton, SC - The Presbyterian College women's lacrosse team fell to Wofford on Wednesday afternoon, 17-13. The Terriers used a late 5-0 run to pull away and split the season series 1-1. Abby Edmisten scored a collegiate-best five goals in the setback. Wofford's Elisabeth Ralph was the leading scorer with eight goals on 14 shots. Final Score: Presbyterian 13, Wofford 17 Records: Presbyterian (2-5), Wofford (1-6) Scoring The Game Neither team could establish more than a two-goal lead in the first half as PC held a slight lead, 8-7, after 30 minutes. Wofford's Ralph had five goals, and PC's Sarah Marshall had five points (4g, 1a) in the first half. After a 4-1 run by Wofford gave them a 11-10 lead with 20:10 to play, Edmisten scored back-to-back goals to give PC a 12-11 lead with 11:17 left. That's when the Terriers rattled off five unanswered to break the game open, 16-12. Edmisten's fifth goal came with 90 second remaining to make it 16-13. Wofford's Ally Furnani closed the scoring with her fourth of the game with 23 seconds left to give the final score, 17-13. By The Numbers - Wofford led in shots, 37-33, and draw controls, 18-13. - Presbyterian held a slight advantage in ground balls, 13-12. - The Terriers were 18-of-20 in clears, while PC was 17-of-18. - Wofford committed only six turnovers compared to 12 for PC. Notables Sarah Marshall (4g, 1a) extended her goal streak to 24 games and point streak to 29 games. Sarah Marshall now ranks fifth in PC's record books with 110 points (82g, 28a). Her 82 goals also rank 4th with third place (86 goals) just four goals away. Abby Edmisten (5g, 1a) moved her season total to 19 points (16g, 3a) which is a collegiate-best for the sophomore.
